Growth Form: Herb.

Stems: Stems erect up to 60 cm in height.

Roots:

Leaves: Leaves simple. Opposite. Blades elliptic-oblong 6-7 cm long and 2-2.5 cm wide. Apex tapering. Base tapering. Petioles 0.5-0.75" long. Stipules absent.

Flowers: Flowers densely clustered in a stalked, axillary head subtended by leafy bracts. Calyx broadly bell-shaped, hairy, with teeth about as long as wide. Corolla lilac, pinkish, or white. Stamens projecting. Ovary superior.
